Do you like taking road trips and discovering hidden gems off the beaten trail? Do you like sampling local cuisine, learning about local history and connecting to nature? My most recent book, the second edition of Backroads and Byways of Upstate New York, offers travel ideas that highlight off-the-beaten path attractions in New York State.

In this book, which was released July 8, I’ve tried to include something for everyone; history buffs, shoppers, outdoor enthusiasts, families with kids and everyone who wants to learn more about New York State and create lasting memories with their families through travel and exploration of some of the state’s hidden treasurers.

Each one of the book’s twenty chapters offers an overview of easy-to-follow travel information and a suggested route to follow. In writing his book I wanted to provide a reliable resource for an authentic travel experience in the state.

Some routes have a specific theme, such as a wine trail, barn quilts or murals, while other routes have a variety of attractions along the way. The beginning of each chapter highlights the basics of each drive, such as estimated travel time and mileage and an overview of what you will see along the way.

Some chapters highlight places that will just take you a few hours to explore, while places in other chapters may require several days for you to fully explore the places along the way.

The book, which sells for $24.99, is available in book stores, some museum and gift shops, and on Amazon and other online book retailers. For more information visit my website www.christinesmyczynski.com

I will be participating in a local author book signing tomorrow, Saturday July 12, from 2-5 at BestCellar Book Bar, 9560 Main Street, Clarence, NY www.bestcellarbookbar.com
